2015 Horse Program Enrollment

2015 Horse Program Enrollment Forms are now ready.  Just a reminder you must be registered with
the NC 4-H Horse Program in order to participate in ANY horse event for the year.  You are not eligible until you have done this.

New for 2015, Enrollment Cards will not be mailed out.  There will be a list available online for all staff to use.

To become registered please contact your club leader or the Extension Office @ (336)372-5597

Cloverbuds (ages 5-8) and Adaptive Riders DO NOT have to pay the enrollment fee.

Youth Livestock Update

Just a couple of opportunities to be aware of:

What: NC State Fair Livestock Judging & Skillathon Contest
When: November 1 & 2, 2014
Where: NCSU Beef Educational Unit
Who: This event is open to all youth in North Carolina that would like to showcase their knowledge of the livestock industry. 

What: Youth Livestock Agent & Volunteer Training
When: December 15 & 16, 2014
Where: NCSU Beef Educational Unit
Who: This event is open to all agents and volunteers that would like to learn more about the youth livestock program.  Topics will include livestock judging, skillathon, and showing livestock.

North Central District 4H Leaders Association invites all club leaders and volunteers to attend:

Workshops, Lunch and Business Meeting

No cost to you!!!!

Come get some new ideas to use in your club. Gain some new leadership skills and insight. Network with other leaders in your district. District officers for 2015 will be elected during the business meeting.

Business meeting will be concluded by 2 pm.
Last workshop (craft) will be finished by 3:15 pm.
Lunch is provided.

County with the most attendees will receive $100 award

Our Basket raffle is conducted at this event. Winners will be drawn at conclusion of business meeting. Buy some tickets even if you can’t come!!

We will get the baskets to counties of the winners. You do not have to be present to win. (But we would love you to be!)

4-H Fall Plant Sale

We are currently taking orders for the 1st Annual Fall Plant Sale.  The following types of plants are available to purchase:

• Flowers

ORDER & PAYMENT DEADLINE:

4-H Forestry Contest

Just a reminder that the deadline for registering your teams for the 4-H Forestry Contest is August 29th.

Tree Identification (live and herbarium specimens - 25 total)
Tree Measurement (15 trees total)
Forest Insect and Disease Identification (10 examples of each)
Compass Traverse

Open Horse Shows Postponed

Due to the inclement weather, the Open Horse Shows that were scheduled for tonight & tomorrow have been rescheduled for Saturday, August 30th.
