Happy Trails 4-H Horse Camp

The 2014 Alleghany Happy Trails 4-H Horse Camp will be held August 5th - 8th at the Alleghany County Fairgrounds, located in Sparta, NC.  Applications for camp are due by July 21st.  The non-refundable camp fee is $100 per camper.  This fee and all forms are due by July 31st.  Spaces are limited and are filled based on the application received.  Attendance for camp is open to youth that are certified North Carolina 4-H members and have access to a sound horse.

There are also openings for Junior Leaders.  In order to be considered as a Junior Leader, you must be a registered 4-H member and you must be 16-19 years old.  Junior leaders will assist with camp activities, duties, fixing meals and helping with Cloverbuds.  Junior Leaders are considered campers and will be responsible for all forms, etc., but will not be charged the camp fee.  

Timeline for Camp:
Applications are due by July 21st
Applicants will be notified of acceptance by July 28th
Entire camp fee and forms are due by July 31st
Camp begins August 5th

Summer Fun Addition: BASKET WEAVING 101

Have you ever wanted to learn how to make a basket?  If so, join us on as we learn from veteran teacher and weaver, Kim Clayton.  All supplies and materials will be provided and you will go home with your very own basket!
