4-H is a community of young people across America who are learning leadership, citizenship and life skills. 4-H is a fun and educational program for children ages 5-19. Alleghany County 4-H offers general and special interest clubs, school enrichment and special interest programs (such as summer fun) and summer camps. Happy Trails 4-H Horse Camp
The 2014 Alleghany Happy Trails 4-H Horse Camp will be held August 5th - 8th at the Alleghany County Fairgrounds, located in Sparta, NC. Applications for camp are due by July 21st. The non-refundable camp fee is $100 per camper. This fee and all forms are due by July 31st. Spaces are limited and are filled based on the application received. Attendance for camp is open to youth that are certified North Carolina 4-H members and have access to a sound horse. There are also openings for Junior Leaders. In order to be considered as a Junior Leader, you must be a registered 4-H member and you must be 16-19 years old. Junior leaders will assist with camp activities, duties, fixing meals and helping with Cloverbuds. Junior Leaders are considered campers and will be responsible for all forms, etc., but will not be charged the camp fee.
