4-H Summer Fun.... Parkway Exploration
June 25
10 am – 4 pm
Ages: 10-19
Cost: $2
Limit: 12
Come with us as we explore the scenic by-way. Did you know that construction of the Blue Ridge Parkway began in Alleghany County in 1935? Join us as we stop off at some great points of interest such as Cumberland Knob (milepost 217), a picnic lunch at Little Glade Pond (milepost 230) and finish off the day at Stone Mountain State Park (milepost 229). Who knows what else we might see along the way. We will be discussing local flora and fauna as we explore. Please bring a bag lunch. A camera or binoculars may also come in handy!!
You MUST come to the Extension Office to register. If there is a fee, payment is due at the time of registration, to secure your child’s space. Parents must complete needed paperwork at registration, including a medical release, code of conduct, and media release.
Registration deadline is Friday, June 20th.
