Overseas Adventure.... from the Ukraine to Alleghany County
Have you ever thought about traveling to a foreign country and living for a year? Well that’s exactly what one 4-her from the Ukraine has done. We are very excited to have Inna Zhekova, a 16 year old student staying in Alleghany County. She is living with Hall family (Bonnie, Al, Cate, Victoria and James) in Twin Oaks and is attending her senior year at Alleghany High School.
She arrived in Alleghany on August 10th, 2007 and will be here through May of 2008. Inna is very excited to be here and loves the mountains and the friendly people. She was one of about 1200 exchange students that came to the United States to participate in the exchange program. Inna has made herself a part of the Hall family and enjoys spending time with her two new sisters and brother. Since she has been here, Inna has been able to do lots of fun activities like riding a horse and visiting places around North Carolina. She has also been attending various 4-H events such as 4-H State Council Conference and will attend Winterfest coming up on January 18-19.
