4-H Food Show
When: March 3, 2018
Where: Wilkes County Extension Office
Who: Youth ages 3+
Cost: Free
Deadline to Register: February 23, 2018
It’s time to show off all your culinary skills at the upcoming Area Food Show! This will be held on Sat., March 3rd and is open to youth ages 3 and up. There are four age categories to participate in: Pre-Cloverbud (3-4) Cloverbud (ages 5-8), Junior (9-13), and Senior (14-18).
Categories include: snack/appetizer, main dish, vegetable/soup/salad and desserts.
This is also a great time to show off your table presentation skills (i.e. tablecloth, flowers or decorative items that go with the theme of your dish). You must bring serving plates and utensils for at least two judges (plastic and paper are fine). At the end of the day we will all get to sample everyone’s dishes so additional plates and utensils are recommended but not mandatory.
You can do pre-registration online HERE Full registration forms can be found below.
Please contact the office with any questions.

Judges Needed For Record Book Judging
Another exciting and successful year in 4-H has almost come to an end and the 2018 year looks to be even more exciting for the program as we continue to make the best better in 4-H! This is the time of year that the 4-H'ers are completing their project record books, Portfolios books and various other projects for county competition. We all know that judges are a vital part of this process and we are writing to request your help.
The dates for judging are: Project Record Judging – April 20-22 and Portfolio - April 23-25. Our judges are one of the reasons that our 4-H youth can excel and judge’s constructive comments help to improve our 4-H’ers record keeping skills. This is why we are asking for your help. We are expecting a larger number of records to be turned in this year. Due to space and budget limitations we will only be able to accommodate 36 judges for each day of project record judging and 20 judges for each day of Portfolio judging. Judges will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis and all registrations for judging must be entered online no later than March 15, 2018.
Lodging, meals and snacks are provided. If you cancel, and do not provide at least one weeks notice, you will be charged for expenses.
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the Extension Office to register @ 336-372-5597.
