4-H Forestry Contest

Just a reminder that the deadline for registering your teams for the 4-H Forestry Contest is August 29th.

The contest will begin at 10am and will consist of of:

Tree Identification (live and herbarium specimens - 25 total)
Tree Measurement (15 trees total)
Forest Insect and Disease Identification (10 examples of each)
Compass Traverse

Contest will end by 3pm.

Open Horse Shows Postponed

Due to the inclement weather, the Open Horse Shows that were scheduled for tonight & tomorrow have been rescheduled for Saturday, August 30th.

Open Horse Shows

There are two Open Horse Shows coming to the Alleghany County Fairgrounds.  

The first show will be on Friday, August 8, 2014 at 7:00 p.m.  Registration begins at 5:00 p.m. This show is for "timed" events. Click here for the class list.

The second show will be on Saturday, August, 9, 2014 at 4:00 p.m.  Registration begins at 2:00 p.m.  This show is for "judged" events.  Click here for the class list.
