2016 Summer Fun

The 2016 Alleghany 4-H Summer Fun Newsletter is now available online.

Click here to find out what fun & exciting activities we have planned for this year.

If you are interested in attending any of these activities, you MUST either come to the Extension Office or use the NEW online form to register.  You can access that form here.  It is strongly suggested that you sign up early, as there are a limited number of spaces available.  We must have current (2016) Enrollment, Medical & Media Release forms filled out.

If there is a fee, payment is due at the time of registration to secure your child's space.  There is also a one-time registration fee of $10, which includes a t-shirt.

For payment, we accept cash, check, debit/credit cards and we now have added a PayPal payment option.  Please note that if you register online, your space is NOT reserved until payment is received.  If you choose to use the PayPal payment option, you must also fill out the online registration form.

For more information, please call 336-372-5597 or you can email Amy or Michele with any questions.

County Activity Day

What:  County Activity Day
Who:  Youth ages 5 to 18
Where:  County Office Building (90 S Main St, Sparta)
When:  Wednesday, May 18 (3:30-6)

County Activity Day will be Wednesday, May 18th at the Alleghany County Office Building beginning at 3:30 pm. Activity Days are the 4-H presentation competitions. These are open to any youth 5 - 18 and cloverbuds (5-8 yr olds) are non-competitive. You can win scholarships to attend other 4-H events and medals by participating.
You can present on any topic - there's a category for everyone!!!  In the past we've had state winners speak about  Radon, Healthy Lifestyles, Forensics, and Graffiti, Goats, Horses and more.

If you need help deciding on your topic, contact the office @ 336-372-5597.  This a great way to practice your public speaking skills in a stress free atmosphere!!!

If you plan to present at District Day in June, you MUST present at County Day.

There is a talent portion as well so if you have and act, talent, song or dance to demonstrate, we'd love to see it.

Also if you are planning to attend NC 4-H Congress in July at NCSU (open to youth ages 13+) you need to plan to do a presentation.  This helps to offset costs to attend.

Please contact the office with any questions or visit the link to register.
